Here in Bratislava, the winter is dismal, at best. Overcast, gray skies blend in with the streets, leafless trees, gray communist bloc apartment buildings and brownish grass. Living on the 7th floor gives us a view of the horizon, so some mornings I am fortunate enough to see a sunrise! It may quickly be swallowed up by the clouds, but it is a welcome sight. Last week we watched a most stunning sunrise!

The sunrise picture is gorgeous--the only reason, I suppose to be 'thankful' for all the years of communist pollution there! The moisture in the air over there doesn't hurt either. We will occasionally have a sunSET that looks about like that, but the dry air here in AZ does not usually have the makings for a great sunrise. What a lovely blessing to start your day!

Dear Carolyn, Reading your emails, I see the one regarding the sunsets.We live in an area where that sunset is viewed through our back window. Each sunset is different, portrays the artist of God in unique ways, makes me feel so very humble at such beauty. I feel so very honored! Jean C.
Carolyn: One again, I comment on your sunset photo. We are having a grey time of beauty, here. I, being an artist of watercolor, alway look at the sky as a subject of God's handicraft. I also relate to your climbing many, many steps, carrying groceries. I can by imagination, view you and your family climb the many steps. Joe, our son-in-law, who died, lost the ability to climb steps. He needed help at the end to even sit up in bed. He always said "I love you" when we conversed on the phone.
He left a testimony of knowing God, even in his pain. Your photos and blogs are uniquely enlightening- thinking of your in far away Bratislava and beyond. I shows me many more beauties and blessings.-- Thanks, too, for your blogs. Jean
We are having a wintry Spring on Feb.21. It is still very cold, but we are glad for the sunshine. I love the comments, photos, books you show as "good books". Today, my sister drove to Detroit to see her son--she has two weeks without doctor appointments. I pray for her healing. Please do likewise, will you? I love the photos of your son's involvement there. The books of your daughter are very good.
